"Baseball Fan Plunges to Death"

Police and fans looking as man falls to ground
Baseball is a sport that the average viewer would rate the least likely to get seriously injured in, right? Wrong! It is even sadder when the injured victim is nothing more than a fan who likes the game. This year alone there has already been two deaths in a MLB stadium where both victims were trying to reach for a ball batted into the crowd by one of the players. On Thursday night, a man fell 20 feet from the stands trying to catch a ball while his young son sitting next to him watched in horror. The man, later identified as 39 yr. old Shannon Stone, was rushed into the medical van where he went into a cardiac arrest and later died. How sad is this? Not only is this the most tragic death anyone could ever watch or have to go through, but on top of that the young boy had to watch his father fall to his death. I don't think I could ever look at baseball the same again. And how do you think the player felt who batted the ball? All I can say is this, maybe it's time we stop with the "ball" catching. Build some nets around me so I don't even get any ideas. I mean whose smart idea was that anyways? Hell it's dangerous no matter how you look at with balls flying at my head. As I have said before, and will always say..."we don't do nonsese round herre!"
